New pay dates for civil service

GOVERNMENT has changed pension and pay dates for all civil servants with effect from this month to allow it more time to mobilise funds amid liquidity constraints on the market.
The dates have been pushed forward by an average five days.

60 magistrates reshuffled countrywide

AT least 60 magistrates countrywide are being reshuffled to minimise corruption that is reportedly rife at some courts.

The move, according to sources, will ensure the judicial officers do not relax and cause backlogs.
The shake-up was necessitated by allegations that some magistrates were engaging in corrupt activities.

The transfers started in November last year and are expected to end in April this year.
