It is not in dispute that the majority of civil servants are earning way below the Poverty Datum Line which is pegged at $538. We need to point out from the onset that the situation is the same in the private sector where in some cases workers are going for months without receiving a salary.

Zimbabwe signed and ratified the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC) as part of its commitment to effective prevention of corruption.

Woman jailed for murdering hubby

A Gweru woman who last year fatally struck her husband thrice with an axe for complaining that she had served him a cold meal was yesterday sentenced to 21 years in prison by High Court judge Justice Lawrence Kamocha.
The woman, Miriam Kudzai Loveness Tinarwo (29), of Mkoba Village 14, Gweru, had pleaded not guilty to a charge of murder, but Justice Kamocha sitting with assessors Messrs Jameson Lex Dhlula and Wellington Takawira Matemba convicted her after finding her guilty of murder.
Bungee jumping to resume after mishap

VICTORIA Falls Bungee Company, a subsidiary of Shearwater Adventures, which suspended bungee jumping after an Australian tourist’s bungee cord snapped on New Year’s Eve, will resume operations today as investigations into the incident have been completed.
Erin Langworthy miraculously survived the jump after a bungee cord broke resulting in her plunging into the mighty Zambezi River from a height of about 20 metres.
