THE Government has reversed its decision to bar local authorities in the country from handling tenders after the councils appealed against the move.

Sometime late last year, Finance Minister, Tendai Biti, issued a directive instructing all councils to stop handling any tenders and to dissolve municipal procurement boards.

Parties take draft to the people

Parties in the inclusive Government have begun mobilising their supporters to endorse the draft constitution in the forthcoming referendum, with officials holding separate rallies countrywide to educate their followers on the contents of the draft.

Zanu-PF, MDC-T and MDC leaders have agreed to campaign for the draft constitution in the referendum expected next month.

Zanu-PF officials yesterday took the draft to all the 10 provinces where senior party officials explained the draft to members of the provincial executive, National Consultative Assembly, Central Committee and Politburo.
