To this young generation, stories about the liberation struggle, about how thousands were massacred at the war front and in camps, how people gave up their lives to fight for this country’s liberation, and how others eventually lost life and limb during the war, seem just like a horror movie.
All-systems go for Heroes, Defence Forces celebrations
PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa will lead the nation in commemorating Heroes Day and Defence Forces celebrations tomorrow and Tuesday respectively with preparations for the two national events well on course.
The main Heroes Day celebrations will be held in Harare at the National Heroes Acre while the Defence Forces Day major commemorations will be at the National Sports Stadium.

Eskom deal eases power supply
The power supply situation in Zimbabwe has improved significantly after the country last week started receiving 400 megawatts (MW) from South Africa’s Eskom, Zesa Holdings spokesman Fullard Gwasira said on Friday.
The imports are testimony of President Mnangagwa’s efforts, after engaging his South African counterpart Cyril Ramaphosa early last month for assistance to alleviate the power situation in Zimbabwe.
