THE 2025 BET Awards, Black Entertainment Television’s premier annual celebration of Black excellence in music, film, sports and television, took place on Monday at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles.

Now marking its 25th anniversary, the ceremony, hosted by Kevin Hart, honoured outstanding achievements across various categories, including Album of the Year, Best Actor, and Best New Artist.

As always, the red carpet kicked things off in style, showing off the night’s boldest fashion moments and setting the vibe for the night.

These are our favourite red carpet looks.

Doechii, who won the award for Best Female Hip Hop Artist, served a 90s-inspired look in a scarlet red Miu Miu two-piece. She completed the ensemble with double belts, stacks of bangles, and 3D floral-accented sandals.

Ciara’s look had a bit of everything. Her all-black outfit featured a silk button-down shirt, short fringe skirt, which had a short trail attached to it, and finished the look with a baseball cap. Perhaps not the best accessory for the red carpet.

“Nope” star Keke Palmer wore a black vintage Chanel mini dress featuring sheer panels and a petite train.

Singer and TV presenter Jennifer Hudson, who was dripping in diamonds, walked the red carpet in a classic floor-length black dress featuring a thigh-high slit.

Ashanti showed a bit of cleavage in a deep V-neck shimmering black body-hugging gown with long sleeves. She completed her look with dainty strappy heels.

Actor and stand-up comedian Kevin Hart looked dapper in a sharp double-breasted tux, classic bowtie and polished patent-leather shoes.

Jordan Sparks added a pop of colour to the red carpet in a peach dress that featured feathered, detailed sleeves.

The men shined too.

Rapper Snoop Dogg looked modern and dapper in his electric-blue coat and matching trousers, while Tyler Perry chose an embellished black Louis Vuitton two-piece. Shaboozey, meanwhile, leaned into his signature western style with a tuxedo with gold trim, and finished it off with a cowboy hat — all designed custom for him by Eleven Sixteen. — iolnews/essence.com
