The 2025 tobacco marketing season is set to officially end on August 7.

The Tobacco Industry and Marketing Board chief executive, Mr Emmanuel Matsvaire, said the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development had approved the closure of the marketing season.

He said a mop-up sale would be held end of August.

“The official closure date for auction floors is Thursday, 7 August 2025. Growers who still have auction tobacco to sell after this date will be accommodated through a mop-up sale process. Affected growers are encouraged to deliver their tobacco to an auction floor of their choice.

“A final clean-up sale will be held on Wednesday, 27 August 2025,” he said.

Mr Matsvaire said contract sales would continue until all individual contractors have completed receiving deliveries from their contracted growers.
