FOUR teams will battle it out in this year’s edition of the Chimanimani Mlilo Trophy at Nhedziwa Grounds tomorrow (Sunday).
Chakohwa FC, Garbon Vipers, Matendeudze and Cossovo FC make up the list of teams that will compete in the tournament.
The tournament is bankrolled by the Chipinge based ZIFA Manicaland fixtures secretary – Innocent Mlilo.
Mlilo said: “The Chimanimani Mlilo Trophy is part of a broader initiative that is meant to develop the game of football in the district. We are also in the process of forming a Division Two League for areas around Nyanyadzi to Vumba in Chimanimani district. In the same breath, we are also going to ensure we have a junior league in the same areas.”
Mlilo, who has been instrumental in the development of the game of football and nurturing talent in marginalised areas, recently hosted an Under 15s competition that drew schools from Chipinge, Chimanimani and Masvingo.
Pamushana High were the winners of that competition.
