A 21-year-old man from Pioneer Village 2 in Fort Rixon, Insiza District, has appeared in court facing allegations of raping his cousin sister, a female juvenile aged 13 years.
The accused appeared before Bulawayo magistrate, Mr Mark Dzira, charged with rape and was remanded in custody to tomorrow (Friday) for continuation of trial.
Prosecuting, Mr Jethro Mada, said the offence was committed on August 22, 2025 at about 8PM when the accused person met the complainant and lured her to a nearby homestead indicating that he wanted to give her a tracksuit.
“The accused then led the complainant into one of the rooms at that homestead, he locked the door hid the keys and demanded sex from the complainant,” he said.
The court heard that the accused went on to grab the complainant, pulled her towards the bed and hit her once on the face using a fist before forcing her to lie on the bed.
Mr Mada said the accused then allegedly took off the complainant’s skirt and undergarments while taking off his trousers before getting on top of the complainant, had unprotected sexual intercourse with her once without her consent.
“After raping her, the accused person ordered the complainant out of the room, that is when she then went and reported the rape to her father,” said Mr Mada.
Following the disclosure the matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the accused.
