A complex of 26 cluster houses has been commissioned in Meyrick Park, Harare, with funding by Stanbic Bank and developed by Troika Design Workshop and Turnbury Property Developers.

Troika Design Workshop shareholder and partner, Mr Simanga Madhlabuta, said public-private partnerships remain critical for national development.

“We believe that business should work hand-in-glove with the Government to achieve the overall objectives of the economy,” he said.

“So, in our small way we are contributing to the National Development Strategy 1 on the housing development cluster, with the thrust of increasing the housing stock in urban areas throughout Zimbabwe.

“What you are witnessing is a handover of 26 cluster houses completed in the last six months in contribution to Government housing targets. In our contribution to the construction industry, we get support from the Ministry of (National) Housing and the Construction Industry Federation of Zimbabwe, and it’s a good thing that we are contributing to the development of our nation through housing.”

By June next year, Mr Madhlabuta said the developers would commission another batch of 150 cluster houses in Harare.

Mr Madhlabuta said private players remain committed to making sure all Government projects were implemented, especially construction and infrastructure, to improve the livelihoods of citizens.

Delivering affordable and quality settlements in urban and rural areas is one of Government’s core targets to improve access to affordable and quality housing and social amenities under the five-year national economic blueprint, the NDS1.
