3 arrested for smuggling cigars

R118 000 into that country through an illegal crossing point along the Limpopo River last week.
The trio aged between 32 and 38 were arrested on Tuesday morning at a roadblock near Shandani area.

Thohoyandou police spokesman Major Mashudu Malelo yesterday said the three were still in custody assisting police with investigations.
Many Zimbabweans have been arrested in the past as they tried to smuggle cigarettes and many other undeclared goods.

The three are expected appear in court soon.
Major Malelo believed the trio could be part of a smuggling syndicate.
