BOSSO are bleeding! With just 5 points from a possible 15, Highlanders stumble into Barbourfields this afternoon with a worrying 33 percent success rate — and a raging Ngezi Platinum machine in their path.
It’s turning into a nightmare for the Bulawayo giants. Once top dogs, now struggling to fetch bones, Bosso’s last five outings have delivered more heartbreak than hope:
• Held 0-0 by Triangle
• Beaten 1-0 by CAPS
• Scraped a 1-0 win over Greenfuel
• Drawn 0-0 with bottom-placed Kwekwe
• Slapped 1-0 by Scottland FC
On the other hand, Ngezi are oozing confidence, bagging 9 out of 15 points — a hot 60% form — including wins over CAPS (1-0), TelOne (2-1) and Greenfuel (1-0), plus a draw with Triangle. Their only blemish? A 2-1 loss to Scottland FC.
And now they’re gunning for Bosso’s scalp — with Takesure Chiragwi’s well-drilled Platinum Stars ready to pounce.
Ty Ncube, Bosso’s interim coach and firefighter-in-chief since Kaindu’s exit, admits the pressure is real:
“We’re creating chances, but we’re slow in conversion. The boys are shy in front of goal. We’ve tried new combinations and we hope this weekend we get it right. We’re Highlanders. We’ll fight for the badge!”
The injury list grows longer — stand-in skipper Andrew Mbeba is still out, while Hubert Ncube, Mvelo Khoza and Darlington Khoza remain doubtful after late fitness tests.
To plug the holes, Bosso have turned to Nigerian hitman Benjamin Oluwarotimi Adeogun, on loan from Gwanda Pirates, alongside new midfielders Learnmore Muyambo and Martin Nhubu.
Can Bosso stop the rot? Or will Ngezi’s platinum train crush what’s left of the black-and-white resistance?
