At least 390 students graduated at St Peters Kubatana Industrial Training College in Highfield Harare on Wednesday.

Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation and Technology Development, permanent secretary Professor Phanuel Tagwira presided over the graduation that was attended by academics, business leaders, diplomats accredited to Zimbabwe and senior Government officials, parents and relatives.

Addressing the graduates Professor Tagwira said the graduation ceremony demonstrates how transformative heritage-based education is and how important it is to reach the upper middle-income economy that is envisioned by 2030.

“The heritage-based education 5.0 is built on five pillars ensuring that learners have access to lifelong skills and entrepreneurial training opportunities,” he said.

“The approach focuses on developing skills that foster innovation, creativity, and critical thinking.”
