$4 000 payout for Mighty Warriors

MIGHTY Warriors landed themselves a $4 000 windfall from LM Auctioneers after they made it into the final.

LM Auctioneers deposited $200 into each of the 20 players’ bank accounts on Friday after their routing of Kenya in the second 2017 Cosafa Women’s Championships semi-final on Thursday.

Some players confirmed the money had reflected in their bank accounts while others said it was still to reflect.

The players hailed LM director, Lewis Muzhara saying his incentive had propelled them to up their game against Kenya.

Marjory “Jeju” Nyahumwe expressed gratitude towards Muzhara’s efforts saying he had been with them through thick and thin.

“LM has a passion for the girl child and he has shown it time and again by assisting us in camp and whenever we play. I am grateful because he is not one of fake promises. When he tells us he will do this, he does it without fail.

“After he revealed to us there is an incentive if we reach the final the mood in camp sky rocketed, pushing us to perform,” she said.

Leading tournament goal scorer, Rutendo Makore said they will lift the cup today for the country and Muzhara.

“He (Muzhara) always wants to see us achieve greater things and is always assisting women football. We have to win against South Africa tomorrow (today) as our way of saying thanks,” she said.

Zimbabwe Women’s Football boss, Elizabeth Kanonge praised Muzhara saying they hope more such generous sponsors can come forward to assist develop the women’s game.

She said Muzhara is passionate about women’s soccer and his latest efforts have played a big motivational factor.

LM confirmed making the deposits on Friday saying it was his way of motivating the girls as there were few incentives in women’s football.
