The trucks that were travelling in opposite directions, side-swiped after one of the drivers failed to negotiate a curve and veered off the road.
One of the trucks landed in a ditch and caught fire, burning passengers beyond recognition.
Police Spokesperson, Superintendent Andrew Phiri, said the four who died including the driver were travelling in the Zimbabwean truck that was heading towards Zambia.
The police are yet to identify bodies of the deceased and police investigations are indicating that the three passengers could be from Nyamakate area.
Meanwhile, the police said identification of the deceased could only be carried out by pathologists.
The police have called for those missing their relatives to contact them.
The remains of the deceased are being kept at Kariba Mortuary while investigations continue. – ZBC/HR
