A 40-year-old man from Goromonzi in Mashonaland East Province was yesterday arrested for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl after she had turned down his love proposal.
Reports are that, after his proposal hit a brick wall, the Goromonzi man grabbed the girl’s hand and dragged her into a makeshift toilet at her residence and raped her once.
After he was done, the man threatened to kill the girl if she ever revealed the ordeal to anyone.
He allegedly repeated the same act on several occasions, until the matter came to light when the girl’s aunt got suspicious, quizzed the girl who revealed what was happening to her.
In a related incident, police are hunting for a 32-year-old Murewa man on allegations of raping a 14-year-old girl who is his neighbour.
After reportedly raping the girl on several occasions, the man ran away.
