FIVE candidates successfully filed their papers late this afternoon and have been nominated to contest in the Parliamentary by-elections for Dangamvura-Chikanga constituency .
The five candidates that will square off are musician Hosiah Chipanga of Patriotic Zimbabwe Party, Taurayi Mandipurwa of MDC Alliance, Isau Mupfumi of Zanu PF, Prosper Mutseyami of Citizens Coalition for Change and Anesu Zaranyika of The Truth Zimbabwe Party.
The nomination court was presided over by Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s Manicaland Provincial Elections Officer, Mr Thompson Chiwereweshe and held at Mutare Magistrates’ Court.
Mr Chiwereweshe confirmed the nominations of the five candidates.
The Dangamvura-Chikanga seat was left vacant when then MDC Alliance candidate, Prosper Mutseyami, was recalled from the National Assembly in May 2020.
