6 armed robbery suspects in court

SIX armed robbers who were arrested by the police for allegedly targeting farms, service stations and business premises in Mashonaland Central Province have appeared in court on robbery and attempted murder charges.

Jerry Mhere (27) of Hari Village Chief Chikwanda, Zaka, Gainmore Muchenje (30) of 785 Chaminuka Street, Chipadze, Bindura, Lazarus Thulani Mathebula (31) of 360-6 Avenue, Bosman Pretoria, South Africa, John Murengwa (31) and Lloyd Mafigu (31) both of Zimbiru Village, Chief Chinamhora, Domboshawa, and Henry Sekai (27) of 3733 Chiwaridzo Phase 2, Bindura appeared before Bindura magistrate, Ms Maria Musika, for initial remand and were remanded in custody to November 23.

Prosecuting, Ms Carol Tatenda Mupazviriwo, told the court that the accused embarked on armed robbery spree in Mashonaland Central Province targeting Umsasa Farm in Mazowe, two houses in Chipadze and Chiwaridzo, Bindura.
