6 killed in minibus accident

CAIRO — A minibus fell off a ferry on the Nile River in Egypt yesterday, killing six people and wounding nine others.

The Egyptian Ministry of Health and Population said in a statement that the accident occurred in the Giza province near Egyptian capital Cairo.

Among the injuries, three were transported to hospitals, the other six received on-site treatment, it noted.

The minibus was carrying about 20 women to work at the time of the accident, according to local media Masrawy news website.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident, state-run news website Ahram Online reported. — Xinhua.
