Goromonzi Rural District Council has proposed a $636 254 723.91 budget for the year 2022.

The proposed budget is slightly higher than the previous year’s which, was pegged at $514 272 046.42, signifying a 24 percent increase.

The Goromonzi Rural District Council said the increase in this budget proposal has been necessitated by the high demand of council services against a backdrop of a weakening local currency due to rising imported goods and services.

The council also said the proposed 2022 budget will be anchored on the New Dispensation’s Vision 2030 of creating an upper middle income economy, National Development Strategy 1, Council’s Strategic Plan, the 2021 submissions as well as those made during consultation process.
