JOSHUA Mqabuko Nkomo Polytechnic in Gwanda, Matabeleland South, is holding its 43rd graduation ceremony, with 642 students set to graduate.
This event marks the 43rd edition for teacher education graduation and the 19th edition for technical education graduation.

Students are graduating at national certificate, national diploma, and higher national diploma levels. Of the total, 392 students are graduating under the Technical Education Division, while 250 are graduating under the Teacher Education Division.

The ceremony is held under the theme: “Transforming Education: Fostering Research, Innovation and Industrialization for a Prosperous and Empowered Upper Middle-Income Society by 2030.”

The event will be officiated by the Deputy Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, Simelisizwe Sibanda, who is representing Minister Ambassador Dr Frederick Shava.

Also in attendance are the Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Cde Albert Nguluvhe, and the Deputy Minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Dr Omphile Marupi.

Since its establishment in 1981, the Division of Teacher Education has produced over 17,000 graduates. The Division of Technical Education, established in 2004, has graduated over 4,300 students.
