75 farmers win ploughs

Diana Nherera Herald Reporter
SEVENTY-FIVE farmers yesterday received a major boost after they were each given a plough by an implements processing firm Mealie Brand. The draws took place at Tobacco Sales Floor, Boka Auction Floors and Premier Tobacco Auction Floors.

The farmers were picked from those that spent at least $120 on Mealie Brand products.

Mealie Brand sales and marketing manager Mrs Eunice Chivunga said the giving away of the 75 ploughs coincided with the organisation’s 75 years since its establishment in Zimbabwe.

She said yesterday’s draw focused on tobacco farmers.

“The next draw would be held in August and in October, where 75 ploughs would be won by lucky farmers.

“The grand draw takes place in December where Mealie Brand is giving away a Massey Ferguson tractor as the first prize, a motor bike for the second prize and for third prize, a 5kva generator,” said Mrs Chivunga.

She said the winners of the three draws qualified to enter the grand draw in December.

Mr Batsirai Tomu of Macheke, who also won a plough, said it was a pleasant surprise that he won.

“I am happy to have won and I hope I get into the final draw,” said Mr Tomu.

Mr Johannes Mavhurume said he was happy to win a product of Mealie Brand as it was the trusted brand.

Mealie Brand is a division of Zimplow and sells farm implements.
