A Legacy in Motion: Honouring the life and vision of Archbishop Prof Ezekiel H Guti

Today, Zimbabwe and the global community pause to commemorate Ezekiel H Guti Day, a tribute to the late African Apostle, entrepreneur, philanthropist and National Hero whose impact continues to resonate across generations.

Born 103 years ago, Archbishop Professor Ezekiel Handinawangu Guti was more than a religious leader; he was a visionary pioneer who redefined the intersection of faith, education, and social development. As the founder of ZAOGA Forward in Faith Ministries International (FIFMI), his influence transcended borders, establishing him as a spiritual father to millions worldwide.

A Multidimensional Legacy

Prof Guti’s life was defined by tangible milestones that transformed the Zimbabwean landscape:

Media & Evangelism: He pioneered tele-evangelism in the region, founding the influential Ezekiel TV to bring a message of hope to global audiences.

Education: In 2012, he established the Zimbabwe Ezekiel Guti University (ZEGU) in Bindura, cementing his commitment to intellectual empowerment.

Healthcare: His revolutionary approach to wellness led to the founding of Mbuya Dorcas Hospital in Waterfalls, Harare—a unique facility renowned for its integration of medical science and a dedicated non-medicinal spiritual wing.

Literature: A prolific author, Prof Guti penned a vast library of Christian literature that remains a cornerstone for moral and spiritual guidance globally.

The 2026 Legacy Walk: Wellness in Spirit and Body

In keeping with the Archbishop’s personal philosophy of “Moral Discipline and Self-Reliance,” ZAOGA FIFMI hosted the Ezekiel H Guti Day Walkathon and Aerobics on May 2, 2026.

The Archbishop was famous for leading by example, maintaining a rigorous fitness routine and morning walks well into his twilight years to ensure he was physically equipped for his divine calling.

The 2026 edition of the Walkathon saw record-breaking participation, with citizens from all walks of life taking up the “New Challenge” to honor his commitment to healthy living.

As we celebrate this Global icon, we do more than remember a man; we celebrate a blueprint for African excellence. By “walking the legacy,” the community continues to uphold the values of hard work, physical wellness, and unwavering faith that defined Professor Guti’s 100-year journey.
