ACCOUNTANT FACES US$76K FUEL COUPONS THEFT

PRINTFLOW (Pvt) Ltd’s former assistant financial accountant allegedly stole fuel coupons worth US$76 000.

Ruvimbo Gladys Kanyamaure has been charged with fraud and was not asked to plead when she appeared before Harare magistrate Dennis Mangosi yesterday.

Kanyamaure was responsible for ordering and recording the fuel coupons in the fuel register, as well as entering the data into the PECAS computer system.

She allegedly received a total of 102 045 litres of fuel coupons from Redan Coupons (Pvt) Ltd and distributed 50 210 litres to various drivers upon request.

However, she allegedly kept the remaining 51 835 litres of fuel coupons for her personal use and failed to provide them upon demand by her employer.

The total value of fuel coupons stolen is US$76 943.
