Accountant steals 50 000l fuel coupons

An assistant financial accountant at Printflow was in court yesterday for allegedly stealing coupons for 50 000 litres of fuel worth US$76 000 for her personal enrichment.

Ruvimbo Gladys Kanyamaure was charged with fraud when she appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Dennis Mangosi.

She was granted US$300 bail.

The complainant is Printflow (Pvt) Ltd company being represented by its security officer Peace Matema.

The State alleged that Kanyamaure was responsible for the fuel coupons, that is ordering, receiving and recording them in the fuel register and then entering the data into a PECAS computer system and raise the respective monthly journals for the creditors.

From January 2021 to December last year, Kanyamaure received a total of 102 045 litres of petrol and diesel coupons from Redan Coupons Pvt Ltd.

Upon receiving the coupons she distributed a total of 50 210 litres of both petrol and diesel coupons to drivers upon request.

However, she converted the remaining 51 835 litres of coupons to her own personal use and failed to produce them upon demand by her employer.
