AWARD-WINNING actress, director, writer, and voice-over artist Charlene Mangweni-Furusa, her husband Tafadzwa “Croft” and a brother of theirs are breathing a sigh of relief after a harrowing car accident that could have claimed their lives last month.

The artistic couple, who are devout Christians, attribute their survival to divine intervention.

According to Charlene’s Facebook post, the accident occurred when their car hit a large rock deliberately placed on the road, causing them to veer off the road and roll multiple times.

The impact left their car a write-off, engulfed in flames.

Miraculously, Charlene and her husband managed to crawl out of the wreckage with no major injuries, a fact that left police and doctors stunned.
“We counted about five rolls. The police and doctors couldn’t believe we walked out with no major injuries,” she recounted.

In her post, Charlene emphasised the importance of prayer and faith, revealing that the couple prays before every trip.
“Never take lightly your conversations with God. He kept us. And we are grateful. He saved us and held us in a moment we needed Him most,” she wrote.

The couple’s ordeal has sparked an outpouring of support from friends and family, whom Charlene thanked for being “a force around us during this time.”

The Furusas, who have tag-teamed to form Motion Zebra Productions, are a force to reckon with in the artistic and media space working in different pieces such as “See Me”, a film that has gotten attention even beyond the country’s borders and different music videos. – Follow on X @MbuleloMpofu
