INSPIRED by First Lady Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa’s ongoing humanitarian work through the Angel of Hope Foundation, the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM) of Zimbabwe has donated an assortment of goods for onward distribution to vulnerable communities.
The donation, comprising food items, toiletries and wrappers, was handed over at Zimbabwe House in Harare by AFM of Zimbabwe chairlady, Mrs Miriam Chiangwa, and her top church member delegation.
First Lady Dr Mnangagwa, through the Angel of Hope Foundation, continues to complement Government efforts in improving the welfare of vulnerable groups, with her initiatives drawing support from organisations and individuals who are also moved to contribute towards the noble cause.
Speaking during the handover, Mrs Chiangwa, who started by wishing the First Lady a happy Mother’s Day, said the church was motivated by her passion for assisting the needy and felt compelled to come on board and support programmes being implemented to cushion the vulnerable.
“God has truly blessed our mother, Her Excellency Dr Auxillia Mnangagwa, with the grace and strength to carry out this great work.
“Through her compassionate leadership, she continues to uplift orphans, widows and many other vulnerable members of our communities, while also empowering women and inspiring positive transformation across the nation.
“As a way of supporting her noble initiatives, we are humbly donating these items so that during her outreach programmes she may further extend a helping hand to those in need,” she said.
Mrs Chiangwa said they were also looking forward to returning with more donations, as they remained committed to supporting and complementing Dr Mnangagwa’s remarkable efforts to bring hope and dignity to the people.

She also expressed gratitude to Dr Mnangagwa for availing her state-of-the-art mobile health facilities during the AFM of Zimbabwe National Women’s Conference held a few weeks ago, which she said benefitted many women, including herself.
“Our hearts were truly filled with joy to witness the mobile hospital and clinic during the conference. Many people came in large numbers to be screened, and the health services provided were comprehensive, ensuring that everyone had an opportunity to be examined for various ailments,” she said.
“We are deeply grateful for this noble programme, and we humbly pray that Your Excellency may continue with it, and that it may grow from strength to strength. This is indeed a commendable initiative, as it enables people to know their health status early, promotes health awareness and encourages timely medical attention, thereby improving the well-being of our people.”
Thousands of women attending the conference benefited from free medical services after the First Lady availed her mobile clinic units under the Angel of Hope Foundation.
The world-class mobile hospital is equipped with an ultrasound scanner, an advanced gynaecological oncology screening unit and a radiation machine.
It enabled people from across the country and beyond to undergo screening for cervical, breast and prostate cancer.
Thanks to the advanced equipment, breast cancer can be detected at an early stage, significantly reducing the risk of cancer-related deaths.
Receiving the donation on behalf of the First Lady, Ms Liz Makwezva expressed appreciation to the church, saying Dr Mnangagwa was humbled by the gesture, which will go a long way in strengthening the Angel of Hope Foundation’s outreach programmes.
Ms Makwezva said the Angel of Hope Foundation remained committed to reaching out to vulnerable communities across the country.
“Your donation will enable us to expand our programmes and, more importantly, remind us that we are not alone in this mission, but part of a larger family that cares deeply about making a difference.
“This kind gesture will go a long way in assisting the less privileged, the elderly, child-headed families and the disabled across the country, and will have a positive impact on communities,” she said.
Ms Makwezva added: “Every act of giving plants a seed of hope. Today, you have planted that seed and together we will nurture it until it grows. We would like to thank you for the time and resources invested.”
First Lady Dr Mnangagwa has continued to champion initiatives aimed at alleviating poverty and improving access to health services, food and other necessities for vulnerable groups, with her work attracting support from different sectors.
