Actress Chimwemwe Chipidza who left the country last month for the African Monologue Challenge in Uganda has vowed to give it her all as she settles in for the third week.
Voting opened on Monday, August 12 and will run to the 21st closing in at midnight GMT +3 (Uganda time).
In an interview, Chipidza acknowledged the representation of other nine states describing the competition as anyone’s game.
“The first act was last week Friday at the Africa Image Conference. We all were given a 1-minute monologue on the topic “The Africa we want”,” she said.
“We managed to engage with various creative stakeholders of Uganda. It was a unique experience to be awarded such an opportunity.”
Appreciating the warm hospitality she received in Kampala, Chipidza acknowledged how diverse and unique each housemate is.
“Everyone is talented and there are real contenders. There is unity among us as a people it is a home away from home,” she said.
Yesterday saw the official launch of the Pan African House with The Office of the President, the Pan African Women’s Organisation (PAWO), the Uganda Communication Commission (UCC), and the High Commissions of Nigeria, Kenya, Algeria and South Africa well represented.
