Star FM’s the After Drive co-host, Nyenge the Dimple Lady has paid a moving tribute to Babongile Sikhonjwa following the death of the Ndebele Rockstar on September 21.
Sikhonjwa, renowned for his lively personality and infectious humour, died at United Bulawayo Hospitals after complaining of breathing complications.
He was aged 49.
Nyenge the Dimple Lady co-hosted the After Drive show with Sikhonjwa and together they would spend quality time broadcasting on the station from Monday to Thursday from 6:30pm to 8pm.
She said she will remember the late multi-talented Sikhonjwa with his vibrant voice and the dry jokes he contributed to the show for the past two years.
“I am in pain, my heart is sore. When I received the news, I thought to myself, there is no way he is gone, not the Babo I know. He is not the “dying type” that one. Unfortunately, he really is no more and it’s hard to process.
“It was almost two years working together with him, and I can say he was as full of life, as it was never a dull moment around him. In the short time that I worked with him, I learnt to live. Sikhonjwa lived his life to the fullest and he bothered no one. I will greatly miss him,” said Nyenge the Dimple Lady.
