Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) graduates have been challenged to maintain high levels of discipline and be on the guard against so-called forces of democratisation that include elements calling for violent demonstrations on 31 July, a top army official has said.
Speaking at the joint pass out parade of Number 5 AAA command officers’ course, Number 15 junior tactics course and Number 9 basic AAA course at Jason Ziyaphapha Moyo Air Force Base in Chegutu last week, Chief of Staff Operations Air Vice Marshal Biltim Chingono said: “In your individual capacities, you are therefore expected to inculcate yourselves with a culture of maintaining high standards of discipline and organisational pride. Discipline is rooted on three core values: self-respect, self-control and a high sense of duty.
“Let me remind you that you are the custodians of defence and security of the nation, so I urge you to remain loyal and dedicated to duty. I understand that you also covered the civil military relations package in your curriculum.”
