AGAMA coach Paul “Popopo” Chimalizeni is a worried man.

“To be honest with you, I am now under pressure. We cannot afford to lose more points at this stage of the title race.”

“We must win our next match and narrow this gap.”

A visibly worried Chimalizeni made this statement after his team came from behind to force a 1-1 draw with third-placed Golden Eagles in the Northern Region Soccer League at Ellis Robins High School on Saturday.

Agama now trail log leaders N’ombeyawora by four points.

Last Friday, N’ombeyawora walloped Ali Sundowns 3-0 in a Mabvuku derby at The Heart Stadium.

The log leaders’ all-important goals came from Tadiwanashe Huni, Russell Chifura and Elder Chirima.

N’ombeyawora now sits on 60 points, with Agama having accrued 56 points. Golden Eagles have so far managed 47 points.

The top-of-the-table clash between Agama and Golden Eagles lived up to its billing.

In a highly-entertaining match, Golden Eagles took an early lead, with striker Henry Manatsa scoring in the second minute.

Agama fought back and got the equaliser in the 36th minute through Kelvin Tinapi.

The two sides missed glaring opportunities as they sought the winning goal. Arthur Gorejena, the Golden Eagles coach, was happy with the draw.

“For your own information, we are not chasing the league title. Our target this season is to perform better than what we did last season,” he said.
