AGAMA FC coach Paul “Popopo” Chimalizeni has labelled tomorrow’s away trip to Chinhoyi Stars a must win as his side continues to chase Northern Region Soccer League leaders N’ombeyawora.
Agama trail the log leaders by two points and head into the match on 49, while N’ombeyawora sit on 51 ahead of their showdown with Cranborne Bullets at The Heart Stadium.
Chimalizeni, frustrated after two consecutive draws, said his team cannot afford to slip again.
“We cannot afford to lose this one. There is a greater need for us to close the gap. All we need is victory,” said the Agama coach.
The Mount Darwin side will look to strikers Tinashe Balakasi (11 goals) and Grey Kufandada (7 goals) to deliver the firepower they need.
Meanwhile, log leaders N’ombeyawora are determined to stretch their advantage. Coach Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera, who faces his former club Cranborne Bullets, warned that the tie will be tougher than it looks.
“We want to win and open the gap as much as we can. To achieve this, we have assembled a very strong team,” said Saruchera.
“For me, this will not be an easy game. I have worked with some of the Cranborne Bullets coaches and players for a long time. This makes this assignment a bit tricky.”
Midfielder Tadiwa Chibunya, with 10 goals, remains N’ombeyawora’s main attacking threat.
