Ten-year-old Credo Samuel Kereke was the youngest award winner at the Zimbabwe Impact Awards, where he was recognised for using football to uplift fellow children.

The young achiever, who recently received an award at the Young Achievers Awards, was recognised for donating soccer kits to underprivileged children in Masvingo and Bikita.

He has also supported young football tournaments in Harare Province, getting boys involved in the game and backing them all the way.

Speaking at the ceremony, Credo said he was proud of the journey so far and eager to do more.

“I support boys through soccer. You can call me Mini Mr Africa 2026, Sports King and Tourism Ambassador, and I hope to empower young people to help Zimbabwe attain an upper-middle-income society by 2030,” he said.

Credo wants to transform rural football into sustainable development, while also attracting more sponsorships and donations.

His mother, Priscilla Chindito, said the award reflected her son’s hard work, determination and perseverance at such a tender age.

“Today my heart is filled with so much pride and joy. It is always good to know that your son is making an impact in the community, even at this age,” she said.

She said the family looks forward to more recognition and will keep supporting him in everything he does.

Ms Chindito also thanked the people behind Credo’s modelling journey, including director Ms Shalom and mentor Obey, as well as Credo’s father for his support.
