MANCHESTER. — Pep Guardiola praised striker Sergio Aguero after the Manchester City ace hit another landmark with his two goals in the 4-0 win over Bournemouth.
The Argentina international scored two headers on Saturday to take his tally at the Etihad Stadium in all soccer competitions to 101 goals.
“Sergio is a special player,” said City manager Guardiola. “A legend. And I’m so happy when he plays good and scores goal.”
However, despite seeing his team extend their record run of English Premier League wins to 17, Guardiola insists his side are a long way short of perfection and must continue to work to improve, especially against sides such as Bournemouth who defend in numbers.
“It was so tough because they played five at the back and 10 players behind, with just (Callum) Wilson in front, marking Fernandinho, so the spaces were almost impossible to find,” he explained. — Sky Sports.
