ECONET Wireless Zimbabwe has announced plans to host a landmark technology exhibition next week in Harare that it says will be one of the most significant tech expos the country has ever seen.

The three-day ‘Econet E-novate Expo’ – scheduled to run from the 8th to the 10th of December 2025 – will be held at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC) in the capital, and will run under the theme: “Future-Ready Tech Synergies”.

The event is a deliberate initiative by Econet – the listed telecommunications and technology company – to turn Zimbabwe’s digital potential into relatable opportunities through an impactful, real-world engagement experience.

The Expo is expected to achieve this by leveraging the company’s leadership in digital transformation to bring together innovators from across Africa to unpack and present emerging trends shaping the continent’s digital future.
“The Expo will be an intersection of a cutting-edge technology exhibition, educative presentations and insightful conversations by some of the top and emerging voices in the tech and innovation space on the continent,” an Econet spokesman said.

He said the Expo will be a fusion of ideas, technology and collaboration, featuring keynote addresses, fireside chats, hackathons, masterclasses, gaming tournaments and youth-driven innovation challenges.

Econet has said that some of the technologies featured will include AI, IoT, 5G and cloud services, offering visitors a glimpse into the present and future of digital services in Zimbabwe and beyond.
“With two business-focused days and one public day, we expect the event to attract dozens of corporates, startups, entrepreneurs, regulators, academics, tech investors, students and digital creators,” Econet said.

The Expo will reflect Econet’s commitment to contributing to a vibrant technology and innovation ecosystem that creates opportunities for mentorship, skills development and cross-sector partnerships.
