Ai Action coach, Tafadzwa Maramba, says they are excited with the 2-0 win over NLCC at the weekend in the Victory Group Harare Christian League.
Maramba is now focusing on finishing strong in the remaining games.
“It’s always a joy to collect maximum points. There is no better joy than that of winning. For us, this was a special victory because we were overpowered technically. It was a much-needed victory though the victory is short-lived we have to focus on our upcoming fixtures,”
“The game was a difficult one for us. Our opponents were tactically above us and we had to be our best to salvage something of our own. Our strength was we remained as a unit throughout the game.
“We managed to have an early goal which helped us stabilize in the game and fight all the way throughout the game.
”We feel we are not yet there and we would want ourselves to improve in a number of aspects of our game. We have to grow in the game at an individual level and as a whole unit together. We have to be solid with our defense.
“We would want to finish in the top four. We hope we can manage to string a streak of wins on our remaining games. Also, our focus will also be to develop our relationship with Christ through interaction in sports. Sports is also helping in removing people from abusing drugs and other vices.
NLCC head coach, Tapiwa ‘Klopp’ Mtetwa said the defeat hit them hard considering they controlled the game.
“We are not ok with the defeat as we played well. We controlled the game and created opportunities but we failed to utilize our chances. Their goalkeeper made a number of brilliant saves and kept them in the gap. They utilized their early chance and capitalized on the mistake by our defense to get the second one.
The match between Mt Hope and HEC was postponed.
