MPOPOMA’S Ajax Hotspurs’ Division One team is most likely to start the 2024 Zifa Southern Region League campaign with an almost new team.

The season starts on April 21.

In last year’s Division One League games, Ajax finished with 36 points and were at position 13 out of 18 teams.Preparations are underway for the 2024 football season.

The top three teams in last year’s league were Arenel Movers, ZPC Hwange and Talen Vision.

Ajax Hotspurs manager, Gugulethu Dlomo said that this year things will be a bit different from last year, as their team is mainly made up of new players who have not been exposed to the higher leagues.

“Our team is mainly made up of new players who were playing in lower leagues and we only managed to retain a few of our old players, we are bringing in new talent, so we are aiming high,” said Dlomo.

Dlomo said like every other team, as a club, they were optimistic of a better season to come.

“I am hoping for a successful and competitive season, the team is in great shape and promising,” said Dlomo.

He said for now they do not have a solid sponsor, therefore they are appealing to the corporate world to assist the team as it prepares for the season ahead.
