As part of his commitment to the AKA Scholarship, powered by SAE and Bridges for Music, AKA spent Thursday at the SAE Woodstock Campus in Cape Town. The multi-award winning artist interacted with dozens of SAE students in a Q&A session that was also streamed live on the internet.

The Q&A session gave the students the opportunity to hear first-hand AKA’s own story and his journey from studying sound engineering to becoming an internationally celebrated songwriter and performer.

Students engaged the artist on a range of topics including the reasons for his support of the scholarship to his views on the current state of the music industry.

AKA also explained his motivation for creating this scholarship in conjunction with SAE: “I’m honoured to partner up with the SAE Institute and Bridges for Music to provide young people with the opportunity to shape their futures and potentially realise their dreams.

“Visiting the campus, I realised the scale of the work and investment we’re collectively putting into this project. I’ve always believed that one day when I finally achieved my dreams I would do whatever I could to help others do the same.” -News24
