DJ FANTAN says Alick Macheso is his “father” and it is always an honour for him to share the stage with the sungura legend.

The two artists will be part of the line-up which will entertain the thousands of fans expected to be part of the 65th Castle Tankard horse race at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare on Saturday.

“It’s always an honour to share the stage with him (Macheso) as was the case at last year’s edition of the same event,” said DJ Fantan.

“We thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and it’s always something marvelous to share the stage with Baba Sharo, whom I call my father.”

Macheso’s team has confirmed their participation, expressing excitement about this year’s event.

“We are ready for the event and can’t wait to meet our fans. While we have participated in previous editions of the Castle Tankard, this year feels particularly special to us,” said Macheso’s publicist Tichaona Makahamadze.

This year’s major crowd pullers include Macheso, DJ Fantan, Oriyano and the talented Nisha T, whose career continues to soar after her hit song, “Admire Kadembo.”

She has become one of the elite performers in the country.

The line-up also features Enzo Ishall and Delroy Shewe.

DJ Fantan also had some words of advice for Nisha T and Oriyano.

“The only advice I can give them is to remain calm and do it the normal way. They can only make their lives difficult if they complicate their acts, which would be quite unfortunate,” he said.

“I strongly believe in the pair because they are not only trending but also doing great with their music, which has made them youth icons and stars.”

The energetic chanter and talent scout urged Nisha T and Oriyano to stick to a sing-along playlist to easily win the hearts of revelers.

“As for Nisha T, I have seen her perform before large crowds in Chegutu and other areas. Now that she will be performing in Harare, she needs to take it easy and simply nail it.

“I expect the same from Oriyano because he is the guy trending with the hottest love songs at the moment. It’s his time to shine and make an impression,” he said.

In their case, DJ Fantan assured revelers of new acts.

“We have been evolving at Chillspot Family along with my peers Levels and Ribhe over the years.

“Recently, we introduced what we call ‘The Passport Segment,’ where we play any type of music.

“This segment is popular with fans because we can play music that makes them dance and enjoy,” he said.
