CELESTIAL Chorus has released a new Gospel offering, Jesu Ari Mufudzi, led by singer and pianist Tawanda Midzi, as the ensemble continues to build momentum towards its next major production.
The song is part of Celestial Chorus 3, an album recorded on December 31, 2025, at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC), with additional scenes captured on March 21, 2026, at the Big Top Arena, Carnival City, in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Led by Midzi, Jesu Ari Mufudzi is a worship song that celebrates Jesus Christ as the Good Shepherd, drawing from the biblical imagery of a shepherd who guides, protects and cares for his flock.
Its message centres on faith, divine protection and the assurance that believers are never alone, even when navigating life’s uncertainties. The song reinforces the Christian belief that Christ provides direction, comfort and spiritual nourishment to those who put their trust in Him.
The release comes as preparations for this year’s Celestial Chorus Soiree gather pace, with executive producer Everton Mlalazi promising a bigger production that will seek to push the boundaries of Zimbabwe’s gospel entertainment industry.
The fourth edition of the annual event is scheduled for December 31 at HICC, where audiences can expect another elaborate fusion of Gospel music, theatrical presentation and visual storytelling.
For this year’s production, the organisers are moving away from the theme of the Law, which shaped last year’s elaborate stage concept depicting Mount Sinai and the two tablets of stone, towards a different subject carrying an equally significant spiritual message.
Mlalazi has also revealed that his song Apo Mambo will serve as the central hymn for Celestial Chorus 4, anchoring the production’s message and providing a musical thread around which the showcase will be developed.
The annual Soiree has increasingly positioned itself as more than a conventional Gospel concert, with its combination of live music, carefully designed stage productions and theatrical elements offering audiences an immersive worship experience.
With Jesu Ari Mufudzi now adding to the ensemble’s growing catalogue, attention is gradually turning to December’s showcase, which promises another ambitious celebration of gospel music and faith.
