It is here and this time it’s blue and black!!!
All is set for music promoter, businessman and philanthropist Spencer “Boss Spencer” Madziya’s birthday party to be held at The Volt, Harare tonight.
The Platinum Entertainment chief executive officer, will be turning 37 years old and the party is strictly by invite. The party which is themed black and blue will see a lot of musicians performing.
The performers include Seh Calaz, Kinnah, Diana Samkange, Blessed Zikhali (8L) and Stunner while celebrated disc jockeys like DJ I-Roq, Ikonik Krims and Big Dollar Bruce will be on the turntables.
Comedian Prosper Ngomashi affectionately known as The Comic Pastor and Candice Mwakalyelye will be the hosts. Zim’s popular fashion police duo Cindy Munyavi and Tafadzwa Zimoyo (TheBoss) will be on the red carpet.
Event organiser, Godfrey “Vokal” Bakasa said all is set for the themed event. Vokal emphasised that the event is strict and guests should arrive 1830hrs prompt for red carpet and live interviews on social media.
“It is what it is. Our annual event is here to celebrated Platinum Entertainment boss’ birthday. We have lined up various performances and guests are expected to be in blue-black themed colours.
“Zim’s fashion police will be on call and don’t get caught. Guests should be in by 8pm as the birthday boy and his entourage arrives. We are opening the celebrations with Mbira DzeNharira before other artistes perform,” he said.
He said they chose the colour blue and black because it signifies elegant, classy and style. “Platinum Entertainment is a brand and we want to thank fans and musicians for their continued support. This year everyone with an invite is guest of honour because we are also giving back to them,” he said.
Asked the total budget of the party, Vokal said, “Calling it a party is somehow a bit low. It is a bash. I can’t shed light on the total budget for the party since we are still doing some final touches. Something might come up,” he said.
The event will also see socialites, radio and television personalities, models, designers, musicians, diplomats and some Government officials in attendance.
