All set for M&H finals

Saturday with 12 schools set for a battle royale.
Defending champions Chibi High will bid to defend the title they won last year at Hermann Gmeiner High School in Bindura.

Masvingo province will have three representatives, who include Chibi, Pamushana the provincial winners, and Allide High, the hosts.
Lord Malvern will fly the Harare Province flag after edging Zengeza 1 High 2-0 in the final.

The Harare representative will parade the skills of Walter Musona, the younger brother of Warriors’ striker Knowledge, goalkeeper Donavan Bernard, Brighton Njerere, Tafadzwa Mukahlera and Albert Kusemwa.
Bulawayo Province will be hoping that lady luck smiles on their representatives, Luveve High.
Last year, Bulawayo were represented by Mpopoma High.

Last year’s losing finalist Howard High will represent Mashonaland Central after booking a ticket at the Mashonaland Central provincial finals at Chipadze High.
Howard High lost to defending champions Chibi High in Bindura last year.
Marondera High will represent Mashonaland East province after winning the provincial finals at Goromonzi High.

Manicaland will be represented by Sakubva High 1.
Hwange High will fly the flag for Matabeleland North after securing the ticket at Gloag High.

At the Matabeleland South provincial finals held at Mzingwane High, Nuli Secondary were the winners.
Pakame High booked the ticket for the national finals in the Midlands.
Vimbayi High will represent Mashonaland West at the national finals.

Defending champions Chibi High, Howard High and Vimbayi High took part in the national finals last year in Bindura.
Meanwhile, Masvingo United coach Luke “Vahombe” Masomere has challenged other coaches in the Premiership and Division One to watch the national finals this weekend and look out for fresh talent.
Masomere believes the development of junior footballers in the country was important.

“These competitions are important on the junior football calendar, as players like Ovidy Karuru, Quincy Antipas, Joel Ngodzo, Norman Maroto, Cephas Chimedza, Honour Gombami, Hardlife Mavundi, Peter Ndlovu, were all identified at these tournaments,” Masomere said.
