All set for Power Sales rugby festival

The tournament director Kizito Muhomba said they were ready for the rugby extravaganza.
“Everything is set and the fixtures are out. We are looking forward to a fun-filled weekend where youngsters will be exhibiting their rugby skills. The Power Sales Schools Rugby Festival is a big event in our calendar and we hope the people of Bulawayo will come in their numbers to support the youngsters,” said Muhomba.
The tournament has also attracted Botswana who are sending their national Under-19 team.

Botswana will take on Vusumuzi ‘Vee’ Ndebele-coached Milton tomorrow before playing Christian Brothers College in the last game of the festival on Saturday which is likely to attract a big crowd.

Last year there were three teams from Botswana.
The competition’s main attractions are Botswana, CBC, Watershed, Allan Wilson, Prince Edward, Milton, Petra, Plumtree and Gifford.
Ndebele said he would be scouting for players for his National Rugby League club Old Miltonians.

“Such competitions give us an opportunity to see some of the best players who we can nurture into great stars. I will be on the lookout for good players who I will invite to Old Miltonians once they finish school. Old Miltonians is on a rebuilding process and I believe I can get one or two players from this competition,” Ndebele said.
Ndebele coached Zimbabwe Sables’ Lloyd Machanjaira and Bradley Takawira when they were still at Milton High School at one of the Power Sales Schools Rugby Festivals.
The Power Sales Schools Rugby Festival is being used to prepare teams for their second term rugby season.
