Organisers for the inaugural Spring Festival to be held at First Capital Sports Club in Arundel, have said that all is set today for the fiesta which will see exhibitions and musicians taking part.

The festival will see artistes such as Zimdancehall singer Tocky Vibes, Dhadza D, Jay Watta, Dj Madeherbelieve, Dj Storm, Dj Iroq, and Kush Carter among others performing.

There will be a ‘Kids Zone’, which will have various competitions and activities such as face painting, swings, trampolines, swimming, mud pools, waterslides, and jumping castles.

The teens, youths, and adults will have a chance to enjoy quad bikes, virtual reality games, horse riding, musical concerts, wine tasting, braai, and zumba among other activities.

Hosted by Rocker’s Island, the festival will also run under the theme, “New Beginning” – Fun and Networking and will start in the afternoon until late.

In an interview with The Herald Youth Interactive section, the creative director of the festival Hilda Mabu said the end goal is to bring together all businesses big and small, and create a web of social contacts, that we hope to turn into business contacts.

“Spring festival is a platform that allows people and businesses to interact and discuss ideas and concepts, market our business with the hope to expand each exhibitor’s social and business contacts,” she said.

“Many have asked why spring but it is because we are in summer like spring and spring is a symbol of the birth of new things or the beginning of something beautiful.”

Hunda said on top of the list is the EPL Lounge 5 matches for the dads.

“Since this is more much of a family affair, we have also decided to take care of the dads. There will be a lounge for soccer lovers where they will come to watch and support their favourite team,” she said.

“We have noticed that some schools host their spring festival but this one is not centered although we will have banks, schools, and various organisations exhibiting. We have a surprise guest and we hope people will have fun.”
