Music lovers are set to be treated to a show of a lifetime as Swan cigarette will launch their brand with a star-studded event at the White City Stadium in Bulawayo on March 29.
Those in attendance will have a chance to see their favourite artistes performing live – including Sungura legend Alick Macheso, Winky D, South African Hip Hop king Kwesta, Master KG, Murumba Pitch, German-based Rap Queen Awakhiwe, as well as Chill Spot Family’s DJ Levels and Fantan.
Other artistes who will take to the stage include, multi-award-winning Rhumba outfit Insimbi ZeZhwane, Botswana’s Vee Mampizi, Toss, Ma N9ine, Sandra Ndebele, DJ Mzoe, Madlela Skhobokhobo, amongst others.
Celebrated Star FM host Babongile Sikhonjwa as well as Ndumiso Skywalker will be masters of the ceremony which will start from 10am.
To gain entrance at the gig, one is supposed to buy two Swan packs for US$1, while for a VIP ticket one has to pay US$20.
The potentially scintillating event is strictly for people above the age of 18 years.
One of the organisers of the much anticipated event Ushewokunze Mutemwa said after doing a number of tours from Beitbridge, Mutare and Harare, they are finally bringing joy and excitement to the people of Bulawayo.
He said a lot of gifts will be given away, as he also revealed that before the musical affair kicks off, revellers will have a chance to watch a soccer match between Zim Musicians FC versus Bulawayo Ambassadors.
“Preparations for the Bulawayo edition are going very well. We have a lot of surprises in store for those who will be attending. But people have to come early to the event as it’s going to be a fun day and we are looking forward to seeing everyone from the region and beyond.
“We prepared a diverse range of acts so as to cater to the multicultural nature that is Bulawayo and Matabeleland. We feel it will be a good mix of local and regional performances and we are expecting our artistes to give off their best,” said Mutemwa.
