ZKS Spinners Arena is the place to be on 29 June as car and spinning enthusiasts are set to be treated to a thrilling and spectacular show of car drifting and spinning, accompanied by good food, music and entertainment.
ZKS Spinners Arena is located at Emthunzini in Bulawayo, near Khami Dam.Drifting and spinning are driving techniques that involve deliberately losing traction and controlling the car through sharp turns or circles. The drivers often get out of their moving cars and strike poses, adding to the drama and flair of the performance.
The sport is popular in Western countries, but relatively new in Bulawayo. The most common cars used for spinning are the BMW E30, Nissan Skyline and box-shape Toyota Corollas. On its fourth edition, the show will see new drivers tasting the tuff at the arena and these include Ingwazi Ezimnyama, Team Ice, King Fly, AK 47, Malankane, The Rock, Mac D, Savior, S’Bahle, Amakhosi, Team Ghost as well as Dirty Damian.

DJs who will rotate on the decks are We Blessed DJ, DJ Cuzin Kooler, Selekta Base, MC Kay-C, Matev DJ, DJ Baby Blue and DJ Juzah.United Kingdom-based businessman Zakhele Mlilo, who is the founder of ZKS Spinners Arena, said that the activities at the arena have been growing and they are grateful for the car enthusiasts they have managed to attract at their events.
He called upon people from Bulawayo to support each other by coming to the event for they will be treated to so much fun. “This initiative has been going on for a while now and we are grateful for the success and support we have received from the people of Bulawayo and beyond. This is a relatively new project and sport, so we are trying hard to make it popular in the city and provide a different kind of entertainment to car lovers and those who are not.
“This time around we have new faces in the arena who will be spinning. This is a sign that we are archiving and we now attract more players in the game. Young DJs will entertain spectators. We chose them because we believe it’s their time to shine,” said Mlilo.
