By late yesterday various teams were trickling in at the games village at Kaguvi.

Donald Mudoti, the Kaguvi information and publicity officer said preparations for the games have been finalised and said everything was in place for the gala to roar into life.

“We are ready to host the games and everything is now in place from accommodation to the sports field. Already some VTCs have arrived at the games village and are going through their accreditation.

“I am confident that everything will be in place tomorrow (today) for the games to begin,” he said.

Mudoti said they would be expecting 100 athletes and 20 officials from each of the 10 provinces which will be battling for honours in six disciplines.

Sporting disciplines that would be showcased include football, darts, volleyball, tug-of-war and athletics (track and field).

He said the games are a way of identifying and nurturing talent at the institutions.
