AT least 120 children and widows of deceased Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) officers will benefit from proceeds generated from this year’s Mashonaland West Commissioner General Golf Tournament slated for Saturday.

The tournament will be held at Zimplats’ Mulota Golf Course in Ngezi.

It aims to bring together golf enthusiasts, members of the police service and community to promote partnerships and raise funds for a worthy cause.

ZRP Officer Commanding Mashonaland West, Commissioner Tawonei Nyazema, on Tuesday that proceeds from the tournament would support over 120 orphans and several widows left by deceased officers in the province.

“The ZRP is committed to giving back to the community and promoting social responsibility,” he said.

“We invite local businesses and organisations to sponsor this event and contribute to the success of our charity initiative. Sponsorship packages are available, and all contributions will be acknowledged during the tournament.”
