In a shocking turn of events, the Moyo family from Chintomba suburb has reported Jabavu Siphosenkosi Shava to the police, accusing him of sexually assaulting their son, Sikhosana Moyo.
According to the Moyo family, the incident occurred when Sikhosana’s brother caught Shava and Sikhosana in a compromising position. When questioned, Sikhosana revealed that Shava had forced him into a gay act against his will.
The Moyo family, who have strong ties to the ruling Zanu-PF party, have since filed a formal complaint with the police, and a manhunt has been launched to locate Shava, who has reportedly disappeared from the city.
“We are deeply disturbed by this incident and will not rest until we find Jabavu Siphosenkosi Shava and ensure he faces the full extent of the law,” said a family member, who requested anonymity.
In a statement, the Victoria Falls Police Department confirmed that they have launched an investigation into the allegations.
“We can confirm that we have received a report from the Moyo family regarding an incident of sexual assault. We are currently conducting a thorough investigation and urge the public to come forward with any information that may assist us in locating the suspect,” said the police spokesperson.
The Moyo family has expressed their outrage over the incident, stating that they will not tolerate any form of sexual assault or violation of their family members.
“This is a heinous act, and we will not rest until justice is served. We call upon the authorities to use all available resources to apprehend Jabavu Siphosenkosi Shava and ensure he is held accountable for his actions,” the family member added.
The Victoria Falls community has been left shaken by the allegations, and authorities have assured the public that they are doing everything in their power to bring the perpetrator to justice.
