adminAltfin general manager Thembelihle Moyo said the medical aid scheme was designed to cater for those who could not afford traditional medical aid schemes on offer.
“A principal member can register a spouse and a maximum of four children under the age of 18 years.
“Individual households and corporate organisations can also join the scheme,” she said
Moyo said MedAccess was reliable, affordable and flexible.
“One needs a prepaid NetOne line and registration is done on a messaging (sms) platform.
“Premiums are affordable and payable at the member’s pace,” she added.
She said with $3, a registered member would get a year cover up to US$2 000.
“Members can subscribe with specified ‘MedAccess’ medical air time every month.
“Subscriptions can be staggered over a 30-day period as long as one beats the cut off date of the 28th of every month to pay the total due,” she said.
NetOne business development manager John Mukasi concurred that MedAccess would add convenience to the members.
“Members will be assured of medical care in a cost effective way.
“Tariff cost is $0,20 per transaction and members will be identified by their cellphone line numbers,” he added.
MedAccess assures access to critical primary care with medical facilities that members could be accessed including municipal clinics, mission and Government hospitals. — New Ziana.
