in a bid to cater for people without live performance recording facilities in Bulawayo.
The mobi-van studio would be put into test soon after the first shoot of the Nyaminyami series.
In an interview, Amakhosi Theatre director Cont Mhlanga said the team for the mobile studio was already in place.
“The initiative is mainly to cater for young gifted producers who lack basic facilities when coming up with quality productions.
“The team for the mobile studio is already there and we have recruited a team of producers set to be in the forefront as they are going through their mobi-van studio manuals as it is,” he said.
Mhlanga also said the initiative was borrowed from the way Jamaicans record live and uncut events.
He said this was going to help the production team attain exposure as far as recording an event and sending it to the market was concerned.
The director also said public events which include public performances and various arts and culture related conferences would be turned into quality productions ready for production that can be broadcast on ZBCtv.
Mhlanga also said productions created from the mobile studio would give viewers something to look forward to as it would be something from their own neighbourhoods.
“As a result people can relate to the production as it would have been shot close to them be it Makokoba, Gwabalanda or Selbourne Park,” he said.
Mhlanga also urged people to come forth at Amakhosi Theatre if they have some good television production ideas. This, he said would help them get proper guidelines.
The mobile-van is being shipped from New Zealand and Amakhosi is yet to engage the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe for the van’s clearance.
